Our primary focus is the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, the Santa Catalina Trails (Pusch Ridge) and nearby Mt. Lemmon, all of which receive over 1 million visitors each year from around the world.

The Pima Natural Resource Conservation District (District or Pima NRCD) is structured as a hybrid of a state agency funded under the Arizona State Lands Natural Resources Division and as an independent local unit of Arizona government. The District’s Board of Supervisors consists of both elected and Governor-appointed Supervisors. The expertise of Pima NRCD and all other Natural Resource Conservation Districts in Arizona is recognized by Arizona statute 37-1054 (A) as follows: “This state recognizes the special expertise of the districts in the fields of land, soil, water and natural resources management within the boundaries of the district.”

The Norwalk River Watershed Association, incorporated in 1996, is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to improve the water quality and fish and wildlife habitats of the 40,000-acre Norwalk River watershed; to restore the riverbanks, meadows and forests through invasive plant abatement and promotion of native species; to encourage recreational use of the river, the surrounding open space and its trails; and to promote research, legislative advocacy, education, cooperation, and action on the part of the stakeholders in the seven watershed towns in CT (Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, New Canaan, Weston, and Norwalk) and NY (Lewisboro).
